Non‑Covered Services (Self‑Pay Options)

Some services at Saber Tactical Performance & Rehab fall outside VA Community Care coverage. These services are available as self‑pay options and can be added at any time.

Performance Coaching

Non‑medical performance services include:

• Strength & conditioning

• Tactical performance development

• Movement optimization

• Readiness training

• Non‑medical assessments

• Readiness scores and performance metrics are non‑medical and are not used for medical decision‑making, duty status, or occupational qualification.

These services are not covered by the VA.

Non‑medical services do not determine duty status, return‑to‑duty clearance, or occupational qualification.

Performance Coaching records are non‑medical and not subject to HIPAA. These records are stored separately from physical therapy medical records.

Hybrid Sessions

Hybrid Sessions combine:

• A medical PT component

• A non‑medical performance component

Because VA authorizations apply only to physical therapy, Hybrid Sessions are not billable to the VA.

Hybrid Sessions are always self‑pay, even if part of the session includes physical therapy.

Dry Needling Add‑Ons

Dry needling performed during Performance Coaching is non‑medical and not part of a medical record. 

Dry needling performed during Physical Therapy is medical and documented accordingly.

Dry needling is not covered unless explicitly authorized (rare).

In most cases, it remains a self‑pay add‑on.

Veterans often add non‑medical services to:

• Accelerate progress

• Prepare for occupational demands

• Continue training after PT discharge

These services are optional and fully customizable.

We use AI‑assisted documentation tools for medical note generation during the physical therapy portion of care. These tools process only clinician‑entered information and do not access or use client media without consent.
