Hybrid Sessions at Saber Tactical
Hybrid Sessions blend medical physical therapy and non‑medical performance coaching into a single, structured appointment — while keeping each service legally and operationally separate.
This model supports tactical athletes, veterans, and first responders who benefit from both rehabilitation and performance development in the same session.
Hybrid Sessions provide a coordinated workflow that transitions between medical care and performance training based on your needs, goals, and tolerance.
Physical therapy services are provided under Colorado licensure.
Performance coaching is a non‑medical service.
What Hybrid Sessions Are
A Hybrid Session is a sequential appointment that may include:
Physical Therapy (medical) when you need evaluation, treatment, or medical decision‑making
Performance Coaching (non‑medical) when you’re ready for strength, conditioning, or tactical development
You move between lanes based on your presentation that day, and you will always know which service you are receiving.
This structure maintains clarity, safety, and legal separation.
Participants may self‑limit at any time, and all training is adjusted based on tolerance and safety.
Who Hybrid Is For
Hybrid Sessions may be appropriate for:
Tactical athletes progressing from injury toward higher‑level demands
Veterans rebuilding strength after rehabilitation
First responders who benefit from both rehab and performance work
Athletes transitioning from pain to full capacity
Individuals who want a unified plan instead of multiple providers
If you’re in the “not injured, but not fully ready” phase, Hybrid Sessions may support your goals.
How a Hybrid Session Works
Start in the Medical Lane (Physical Therapy)
Your session may begin with:
Symptom review
Movement assessment
Medical decision‑making
Manual therapy or corrective work
Load‑tolerance testing
If treatment is indicated, it is provided.
If you are appropriate for training, the session transitions to coaching.
Shift Into the Performance Lane (Coaching)
The performance portion may include:
Strength training
Conditioning
Ruck preparation
Tactical task simulation
Power development using VBT
Non‑medical application of BFR or specialty modalities
This portion focuses on developing capacity and supporting your performance goals.
Switch Lanes as Needed
If symptoms arise during training, the session returns to PT.
If you tolerate training well, the coaching portion continues.
The session adapts to your needs in real time.
Clear Documentation and Billing
Each lane is documented separately:
PT notes for medical care
Coaching notes for non‑medical training
Billing is also separated to maintain legal and operational clarity.
What a Hybrid Session May Include
Medical evaluation or treatment
Strength or conditioning work
Tactical movement or load‑bearing tasks
Power or speed development
Mobility and recovery work
Objective progress tracking
Hybrid Sessions are designed to support your progression from rehabilitation toward higher‑level physical demands.
Why Hybrid Sessions Are Effective
Coordinated Care
Your medical and performance needs are addressed in one structured workflow.
Continuity
You avoid gaps between rehab and training.
Unified Planning
Your goals, demands, and progress are managed by one provider who understands your mission and your physical requirements.
Clarity
You always know which service you are receiving and why.
Hybrid Sessions do not guarantee specific outcomes or provide return‑to‑duty clearance, but they can support the physical components of readiness.
Legal Separation
Physical Therapy (Medical) Includes:
Evaluation
Diagnosis within PT scope
Treatment
Medical decision‑making
Rehabilitation
Performance Coaching (Non‑Medical) Includes:
Strength and conditioning
Tactical performance development
Movement optimization
Work‑capacity training
Long‑term performance planning
These services remain separate to protect your safety and maintain regulatory compliance.
VA Referral Note
Hybrid Sessions include both medical and non‑medical components.
Because VA Community Care authorizations cover physical therapy only, Hybrid Sessions are not billable to the VA and remain a self‑pay service.
VA referrals apply only to Physical Therapy services.
Veterans may choose Hybrid Sessions as an optional, self‑pay upgrade.
